Motorcyclists Injured in Brock Township

A 52-year-old male and a 47-year-old female both from the Holland Landing area are in critical condition at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto following a motorcycle and a motor vehicle collision in Brock Township. Both injured parties were on the motorcycle.

On Monday August 1, 2011 at approximately 11:23 a.m., officers from North Division were called to a motor vehicle collision on Regional Road 23 near Sideline 17 in the Township of Brock.

The 52-year old-male was transported to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto by air ambulance from the scene. The 47-year-old female was transported to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in Uxbridge and was later transported to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto by ambulance. Investigators do not believe that alcohol or road conditions were a factor in the collision.

Witnesses at the scene stated that both vehicles were southbound at the time of the collision. The car was stopped making a left hand turn when the motorcycle collided into the rear of the car.

Members of the Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. A section of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have any information or may have witnessed this incident.
