Two Ajax men arrested for credit card fraud

Following an investigation involving stolen credit cards, officers have arrested two Ajax residents.

On Tuesday August 2, 2011 members of the Major Fraud Unit – Organized Crime Section executed a search warrant in Ajax and arrested two males in regards to the theft and use of credit cards. The investigation began after a credit card was stolen from an Ajax fitness centre in July of 2011 and was used to make purchases online. Police recovered stolen credit cards, stolen identification, $1000 cash, property obtained by crime and a small quantity of cocaine during the search warrant. Investigators determined the suspects would steal credit cards from fitness centre locker rooms, purchase merchandise and then sell the property fraudulently obtained, over the internet.

Vladimir POCKLINGTON, age 34 and Mathieu SERVANT, age 22, both of Reed Drive in Ajax are jointly charged with: Possession of a Credit Card Obtained by Crime x2, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x3, Knowingly Possess Identity Information for a Fraudulent Purpose and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

POCKLINGTON is additionally charged with Fraud Under, Possession of a Credit Card Obtained by Crime, Knowingly Possess Identity Information for a Fraudulent Purpose and Breach of Probation x4. SERVANT is additionally charged with Breach of Probation x2. Both accused were held for a bail hearing.
