Edmonton’s Medical Examiner has deemed the death at the Edmonton Institution on August 16, 2011, a homicide with the cause of death being multiple stab wounds.
The victim has been identified as 21-year old Mason Tex Montgrand.
Charges are pending against a fellow inmate at the Edmonton Institution.
The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section continues to investigate.
