Gordon Shaw, 56, of no fixed address, has been charged with 2nd degree murder regarding the May, 2011 death of Edmonton resident, Robert Anderson, 70.

EPS officers discovered Anderson’s body in his home at 65 Street and 128 Avenue on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, after concerned neighbours reported they had not seen or heard from him for several days.

The investigation led homicide detectives to Port Alberni, BC, where Shaw was arrested and charged on Friday, Aug. 19, with the assistance of Port Alberni RCMP.

The accused will make a brief appearance in Port Alberni court today, Monday, Aug. 22, and will then be transferred to Edmonton.

Background:

( June 01, 2011) An autopsy has been completed on the body of a 70-year-old man found in an apartment complex on the city’s north side during the supper hour last night. While the Medical Examiner has deemed the death a homicide, the cause of death is being withheld.
