Mounties charge Springhill man for a teen’s murder

Members of the Springhill Police Service (SPS) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have charged a Springhill man in relation to a homicide that occurred early Monday morning. 

Zachary Quinn Brake, 18, has been charged with Second Degree Murder in the death of 37-year old Tracey Ann Rudderham.

At approximately 2:53 a.m. on October 24, SPS responded to a complaint at a residence on Mechanic Street, Springhill. Upon arrival at the scene, police found Rudderham deceased inside her residence. An autopsy is being performed today in Halifax.

Zachary Quinn Brake was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court in Amherst at 0930 today.

The Springhill Police Service and the RCMP Northeast Nova (NEN) Major Crime Unit are continuing with their homicide investigation.
