A volunteer, who works with senior citizens, has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation into allegations involving a senior victim.
On Thursday October 13, 2011 the victim, a handicapped female senior who lives alone in Scugog, called the suspect and asked him to deliver vitamins. The suspect was then invited inside the victim’s home and soon afterwards, the suspect inappropriately touched the victim. When the victim objected, the suspect left the premises.
The victim received support from family members before reporting the incident several days later to police for investigation.
On Friday October 21, 2011, officers from North Division located and arrested the accused.
Harold CRAWFORD, age 78 of Highway 7A in Scugog is charged with: Sexual Assault. The accused was released on an Undertaking with Conditions.
The accused works as a volunteer with the elderly and investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
