Serious vehicle collision claims life of an elderly Mississauga female pedestrian

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses in a motor vehicle collision that resulted in a 60 year-old female pedestrian being fatally injured.

On Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at approximately 6:14 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of McLaughlin Road and Eglinton Avenue. The vehicle involved in this incident is a 1993 Ford Aerostar van that was being operated by a 54 year-old male from Mississauga.

The 60 year old female from Mississauga was attempting to cross the roadway when she came into contact with the vehicle. The victim was transported to local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

A Post Mortem is scheduled for Thursday December 8, 2011.
