A 34-year-old man has been charged with seven additional counts in connection with an investigation into access and distribution of child sexual abuse images and text.
Shane Evan McCabe of no fixed address was charged in Edmundston Provincial Court on February 6, 2012 with two counts of making child pornography, two counts of distributing child pornography, two counts of accessing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. The charges stem from incidents in Edmundston and Moncton between December 1, 2010 and November 16, 2011.
Last week, McCabe was charged in Moncton Provincial Court with making child pornography.
The charges come after a year long investigation by the Edmundston City Police Force and the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
The Fredericton Police Force, the RCMP’s Technological Crime Unit, the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC), the RCMP’s Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System (VICLAS) and the National Sex Offender Registry also assisted with the investigation.
