A pedestrian was killed following a collision on Highway 15 near the Highway 2 exit.

On March 21, 2012, at approximately 1:20 p.m., District 4 RCMP responded to a collision at Painsec Junction, N.B. The victim, a Moncton woman in her late twenties, passed away at the scene as the scene as a result of her injuries.

The collision occurred when the woman was attempting to cross the highway.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is on the scene. It’s expected the highway will be closed or reduced to a single lane in order to conduct the investigation.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
