On Tuesday. April 24, 2012, police arrested a Correctional Officer in connection with a drug investigation.

It is alleged that:

– on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, the accused attempted to smuggle a package containing alcohol, tobacco, lighters, rolling papers and marijuana into the Toronto West Detention Centre

– the package was intercepted within the detention centre

– the package was seized by police

– police found Oxycontin tablets on the accused

It is further alleged that:

– on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, police executed a search warrant at a home in the Poplar Road/Childs Drive area

– police seized marijuana, oxycodone, cocaine and money.

Adam Bertoli, 33, of Milton, has been charged with:

1) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana
2) Possession for the Purpose controlled substance
3) Possession of Cocaine
4) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana
5) Possession of Proceeds of Crime

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, room 103, at 10 a.m.

The Toronto Police Service Drug Squad worked in conjunction with the security investigators at the Toronto West Detention Centre.
