Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses to a fatal motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

On Monday, April 23, 2012, at 9:40 p.m., the victim, a 55 year-old Mississauga woman, was crossing the street in the area of Hurontario Street and Elm Drive. She was struck by a white 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer with an Alberta licence plate, operated by a 23 year-old Mississauga man.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.

The Major Collision Bureau is continuing the investigation to determine if charges will be laid.
