On May 17, 2012, at approximately 12:21 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Sargent Avenue for report of an injured male.
Police arrived on scene and located an injured adult male. Paramedics attended and transported the male to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Clarence William Ross, 31 years old of Winnipeg.
The investigation revealed that shortly after midnight on May 17, 2012 the victim came into contact with the two suspects in the area of Maryland Street and Sargent Avenue at which time the victim was assaulted in the upper body. Both suspects fled but were quickly apprehended by police a short distance away.
Devin Vernon Williams-Wapash, a 19 year old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
– Second Degree Murder
– Warrant to Apprehend
– Breach of Probation X 2
Danyell Williams, a 22 year old female of Winnipeg has been charged with:
– Second Degree Murder
Both accused were detained in custody.
