The District 9 RCMP is continuing to investigate human remains that were discovered in the Janeville, N.B., area in early December 2011.
A private property owner had come across what are believed to be human bones while cutting wood on his land. The remains were sent for forensic examination, but were determined to be too deteriorated to be positively identified.
Investigators returned to the area where the remains were discovered in May 2012 to remove additional samples. The new samples have now been sent for forensic analysis.
