Moncton man passes away during a fatality at train tracks

The Codiac Regional RCMP is investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a train.

The collision occurred east of the Elmwood Drive crossing in Moncton, on July 12, 2012, shortly after 5 p.m.

A 27-year-old man from Moncton passed away at the scene, as a result of his injuries.

The investigation to this point has revealed that the man was on the tracks, and the train did not have time to stop. It does not appear that the incident was criminal or accidental in nature. The man’s name will not be released pending notification of his family.
