A member of the Campbellton Detachment of the RCMP was injured in a single police vehicle collision.

Around noon on July 21, 2012, an RCMP officer was responding to a call in the city when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a church at the corner of Aberdeen and Andrew streets.

The officer suffered serious injuries but they are not believed to be life threatening.  Several bystanders assisted the officer at the scene. He was subsequently transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
