Codiac Regional RCMP have arrested a 27-year-old Moncton man in connection with a series of arsons which occurred in the Parkton area in Moncton earlier this week.

On April 12, 2010 at approximately 4:45 am, police were called to a home on Churchill Street where two vehicles and the exterior of a home were damaged by a fire. While the RCMP and the Moncton Fire Department were investigating the cause of the blaze, they discovered that there had also been other vehicles burned on Churchill Street and one on Oakland Avenue earlier that day.

In total police are investigating four cases of arson where six vehicles and the exterior of a home were damaged by fire.

The 27-year-old man is currently in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court this afternoon at 1:30 pm to face charges in connection with these fires
