Toronto teen Marquis Clark and Brampton man Laffette Charlton arrested in Mississauga shooting investigation

Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have made arrests in the shooting of two young men in The Collegeway and Ridgeway Drive area.

On Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at approximately 11:20 p.m. the victims were waiting to meet a male in the plaza area at 3355 The Collegeway, Mississauga.  At that time, the accused men approached and began shooting at the victims.  One victim, an 18 year old male from Mississauga, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and right arm; while the second victim, a 19 year old male, also from Mississauga, sustained a gunshot to the right thigh.

Both victims were transported to a Toronto area trauma centre, where they underwent surgery and have since been released.

Marquis Clark, 19 years of age, of Toronto, was arrested without incident on August 8, 2012 at approximately 12:39 a.m., outside his residence.

Laffette Charlton, 20 years of age, of Brampton, was arrested without incident in Brampton on August 8, 2012 at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Both accused parties were charged with Attempted Murder x 2. They were held for a Bail Hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in answer to the charges.
