Multi-vehicle collision, Bathurst Street/York Downs Drive

On Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 3:15 p.m., police responded to a multi-vehicle, personal-injury collision on Bathurst Street at York Downs Drive.

It is reported that:

– a 46-year-old man was driving a Dodge Caravan, southbound on Bathurst Street, across the intersection of York Downs Drive,

– the driver was unable to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove over a raised curb and into a parking lot, where he struck a parked Ford pickup truck,

– the driver then reversed the vehicle, proceeding northbound onto the sidewalk and crashed through a bus shelter on the northwest corner,

– the vehicle then struck two other vehicles, a Hyundai Accent and a Toyota Camry, before coming to a stop,

The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges are pending as the investigation continues by members of Traffic Services.
