The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to a homicide that occurred in the southeast.
 
At approximately 8:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, police were called to the 200 block of 90 Ave. S.E., where the body of a man was found outside a residence.
 
An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, and concluded that the man died as a result of stab wounds.
 
Formal identification of the victim, Joshua Hogarth, 18, of Calgary, was not able to be conducted until this morning, Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012.
 
A man was questioned yesterday in relation to the death.
 
Byron Arnold Blanchard, 20, of Calgary, was formally charged with second degree murder in the early hours of this morning.
 
He has been remanded in custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
