Last week in Campbellton Provincial Court, Kiel Lévesque, a 27-year-old man from the Balmoral area received 6 months in jail for dangerous driving, impaired driving and breaching an undertaking. He was also suspended from driving for 18 months and received a 12 month probation. He must also pay a fine of $1250.
These charges stemmed from a driving infraction where Lévesque was caught speeding by an RCMP officer going 110km/h in a 60km speed zone.
Lévesque was sentenced in Campbellton Provincial Court on April 23, 2010.
District 9 RCMP remind motorist that there are stiff penalties when it comes to dangerous driving infractions. "The risks motorists take when driving aggressively can be deadly which is why the District 9 RCMP Traffic Unit is dedicated to enforcing traffic laws” states Cpl. Pat Gauthier of the District 9 RCMP Traffic Unit.
