A Sainte-Marie-de-Kent man faces several charges in relation to two sexual assaults that took place in Moncton.

31-year-old Akili Olivier Koro appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on November 5, 2012, to face several charges including aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, and assault causing bodily harm in an incident that occurred on October 31, 2012 in Moncton.

Akili Olivier Koro was remanded until November 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. for a bail hearing.

On November 6, charges of forcible confinement, sexual assault with a weapon, assault, and mischief were also laid against him in relation to an incident that occurred on September 20, 2012.

These two incidents involved separate victims. In both cases, the victims were walking along St. George St. between midnight and 3:00 a.m. when they were approached by a man and got into his car. They were then driven to another location where the assaults occurred.

Codiac RCMP believes that there may have been other occurrences that have occurred within the past couple of months but have not been reported to police.
