On September 30, 2012 26-year-old January Lapuz was found in her New Westminster home with stab wounds. She later died in hospital.
On December 5, 2012 IHIT arrested 20-year-old Charles Jameson “Jamie” Neel in connection to this murder. He has now been charged with Second Degree Murder.
IHIT investigators continue to investigate the motive for this murder. No further information will be provided at this time as the matter is now before the courts.
Mr.Neel is scheduled to appear in New Westminster Court this afternoon.
