Brampton man Audley Crooks charged with several counts on drug and firearm

On Friday, December 14, 2012, in the late evening, officers with the Peel Regional Police S.T.E.P. (Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing) program stopped a vehicle on Derry Road near Highway 410. While investigating, officers located a small amount of drugs and a loaded .380 calibre Jimenez Arms semi-automatic handgun within the vehicle.

 Audley Crooks, a 29 year-old resident of Brampton, is facing the following drug and firearm charges:

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana,

–  Occupant of Motor Vehicle with Firearm,

– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm,

– Possession of a Prohibited Weapon,

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

– Weapons Dangerous,

– Careless Storage of a Firearm, and

– Careless Storage of Ammunition

Crooks is beingheld in custody pending a Special Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

A passenger in the vehicle, Francesco Middonti, a 30 year old resident of Brampton is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of January 17th, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
