Male attacked with a hammer on OC Transpo bus in Ottawa

Ottawa Police Service is investigating an assault that occurred Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at approximately 11:30 pm aboard an OC Transpo bus travelling west along the Ottawa River Parkway. At this time, two male passengers were involved in a verbal dispute that quickly turned violent when one male struck another in the head with a hammer. Police responded immediately and the suspect was taken into custody, while the victim was transported to local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

At this time, the matter in being investigated by detectives and charges are pending.
