Toronto man Nicholas Silvera charged with second degree murder

On Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at 4:58 a.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing at a hospital in Toronto.

It is reported that:

– an altercation took place between the victim and a man in the parking lot of Randy’s Sports Bar, at 4801 Keele Street

– during the altercation, the victim was stabbed

The victim was taken to hospital by his friends, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as O’Marie Brooks, 22, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

On Tuesday, January 1, 2013, Nicholas Silvera, 29, of Toronto, surrendered to police.

He has been charged with:

1) Second Degree Murder.

He was scheduled to appear in court 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 10 a.m.
