The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a fraud investigation targeting the Jewish community.
It is alleged that:
– the accused targeted women in the Jewish community while in the subway system
– he purported to be a visitor from Israel then asked for a loan to help him out of a financial dilemma
Israel Aharonovitz, 63, of Israel, is charged with:
1. four counts of Fraud Under $5,000
Police believe there may be more victims.
