Investigators in the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have laid charges in connection with the assault and stabbing of a truck driver.

At 11:09 a.m. yesterday officers responded to the parking lot of Penhorn Mall after an injured man was discovered in the cab of a transport truck. The investigation led officers to an address on Willowdale Drive in Cole Harbour yesterday afternoon. RCMP patrol officers attended that location and arrested three men for possession of stolen property. Officers have since determined that the truck driver and one of the suspects were known to one another and were together prior to the offence occurring.

The three men who were arrested yesterday now face charges. Thirty-year-old Tyrone Anthony Crooks of Cole Harbour faces charges of using a firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, robbery, kidnapping, aggravated result, uttering threats and possession of stolen property under $5000. Thirty-nine-year-old Nelson Tyrelle Beals and 22-year-old Marlo Malileto Cain of Dartmouth each face charges of possession of stolen property under $5000, possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and breach of probation. They are all scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court this afternoon.
