On Wednesday, March 14, 2013, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police were called to the Wexford Residence Long Term Care (LTC) facility, 1860 Lawrence Avenue East, for an assault in progress.
It is alleged that:
– the body of a woman, 72, was found with obvious signs of injuries
– she was pronounced at the scene
– a 91-year-old woman was found with obvious signs of injuries
– both women were residents of the LTC
Peter Roy Brooks, 72, also of the LTC, was arrested.
He is charged with:
1) Second-Degree murder
2) Aggravated assault
He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 2 p.m.
The deceased has been identified as Joycelyn Dickson, 72.
A post-mortem examination will be scheduled.
