Man flees after stabbing a Hamilton woman in the back

The Hamilton Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public regarding a stabbing that took place at Barton St. E. and Weir St. N.

On Monday, June 21st, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a man and woman were at the corner of Barton St. E. and Weir St. N. in Hamilton. They were having a conversation, when the male brandished a knife and began stabbing the female numerous times to both her arms and back area. The male suspect then fled on foot southbound on Weir St. N.

The Hamilton Police Service Division Two Detectives are investigating the stabbing incident and through their investigation have developed a suspect who they believe to be from the Toronto area, but frequents Hamilton. The victim met the suspect at a club in Hess Village about two weeks ago and barely knew him.

The male suspect is described as:

• black,
• dark skinned,
• 20-25 yrs.,
• 140-160 lbs.,
• 5’6”,
• clean shaven,
• short hair, and wearing a
• dark shirt,
• dark jeans,
• black baseball cap with a gold “P” on the front,
• brown Timberland boots,
• square stud earrings in both ears.
