The Winnipeg Police Service previously released information on May 13, 2010 regarding a sexual assault incident involving a 28 year old female walking in the area of Stapon Road and Reenders Drive. A male approached the victim from behind and proceeded to commit a physical and sexual assault against her. The victim was able to fight off the attack suffering minor injuries. The suspect fled the area on foot.
Between June 22 and June 24, 2010 police responded to three additional incidents where females were sexually assaulted. They area as follows:
· June 22 – Ness Avenue and Sackville Street
· June 23 – Academy Road and Harrow Street
· June 24 – Wolseley Avenue and Camden Place
As a result of an ongoing investigation, Curtis Leroy GEORGE 18 years, was located and arrested in Wolseley area of Winnipeg.
He has been charged with Sexual Assault x 4.
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
The investigation is continuing.
