Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP are continuing to investigate a serious assault in Public Landing which resulted in a 31-year-old man being hospitalized.
On Saturday, June 19 at about 9 p.m., a number of men disembarked a 26-foot white Baja 260 speedboat at the Public Landing wharf. A 31-year-old man at the wharf was assaulted and suffered serious injuries. He remains in the Saint John Regional Hospital. The police have been unable to speak to him due to his injuries.
Over the course of the investigation several people have been arrested. They were questioned and subsequently released. At this point no charges have been laid. The RCMP are continuing to seek witnesses.
