A 54-year-old man from Québec will be appearing in Moncton Provincial Court to face charges in connection with an aggravated sexual assault and forcible confinement investigation.

On April 25, 2013, witnesses called 911 when they saw a young woman running naked in a parking lot near the intersection of Church Street and Mountain Road in Moncton. The woman had been seen leaving from a transport truck and was screaming for help. Several witnesses came to her aid and called the police. The transport truck left the scene before police could intercept it.

The police investigation led officers to Saint-Mathieu, a community on the south shore of Montreal in Québec. On May 8, 2013, the Codiac Regional RCMP, with the assistance of la Régie inter-municipal de police de Roussillon in Quebec, located the suspect and the truck in Saint-Mathieu, Québec. Police searched the truck and arrested a 54-year-old man without incident.

Maurice Cloutier of Sainte-Martine will be brought back to New Brunswick where he is charged with aggravated sexual assault and forcible confinement. He is scheduled for a court appearance on May 10, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
