Police has recently made another arrest in a homicide investigation of a person allegedly visible in the picture leaked of the so-called Rob Ford drug video. 23-year-old Hanad Mohamed, from Toronto, has been arrested in Alberta and is charged with first-degree murder in the March 28 fatal shooting of Anthony Smith in downtown Toronto. Police has already taken another suspect, 23-year-old Nisar Hashimi, in custody and charged him with first-degree murder in the case.

The Toronto homicide squad revealed that the RCMP arrested Mr. Mohamed from Fort McMurray, Alta., on Friday, almost a week after a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest. Furthermore, different sources have alleged that now detectives have also acquired search warrants for Mr. Mohamed’s cellphone and homes, and will carry on the investigating as they look for at least one other suspect. Mr. Mohamed will soon be transported to Toronto on Thursday in the custody of the Toronto Police Service, where he will await a court appearance set for Old City Hall on Friday.

Mayor Ford drug video, which is alleged to be involved in the arrest, has already created ample drama at City Hall for almost two weeks now. Numerous publications have alleged that the video appears to show Mr. Ford smoking crack cocaine and using foul language. The ongoing controversy has already cost a lot to City Hall as two key staff members in the mayor’s office were fired amid repeated calls from city politicians and civic leaders for Mr. Ford to address the allegations more directly.
