Toronto bank robber faces 52 charges

On Tuesday, July 13, 2010, police arrested a man in connection with a series of armed robberies.

It is alleged that:

– between Saturday, March 13, 2010 and Tuesday, July 13, 2010, the accused committed 20 retail and bank robberies in Toronto,

– the accused, wearing a disguise and armed with a handgun, would enter a store or bank,

– the accused would point the handgun at the victim and demand money,

– in some cases, the accused would pistol-whip the victims,

– the accused would flee the scene in a stolen vehicle.

Oslee Mitchell, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) 20 counts of Robbery While Armed,
2) 20 counts of Disguise with intent,
3) three counts of Assault Bodily Harm,
4) three counts of Assault with a weapon,
5) five counts of Possession of Property obtained by crime,
6) Possession of automobile master key

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, room 306, at 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
