Edmonton police search for missing probable disoriented man Patrick Musanganya

The Edmonton Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating an adult male who was reported missing and may be disoriented.

Patrick Musanganya was reported missing to police at approximately 10 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013. Musanganya was last seen on Monday afternoon at his family’s residence in west Edmonton in the area of 89 Avenue and 179 Street.

Family members are concerned for Musanganya’s well-being because he suffers from a brain injury and functions at a lower level, which makes him dependent on his family.

Patrick Musanganya23, is described as a Black male, approximately 5’ 6” tall, weighing approximately 150 lbs., and has a scar over his left eye.  He was last seen wearing a blue top with animal print on the front and black jeans.  He is new to the city, and only speaks French or Swahili.

Police continue to actively search for Musanganya.

Update: A young man who was reported missing Monday, July 7, 2013, was located Tuesday night in Southwest Edmonton.

A citizen recognized Patrick Musanganya from a photo posted on Twitter and contacted police Tuesday evening. The young man was spotted walking in the area of 98 Street and 79 Avenue.

Officers have since reunited the young man with his family, hungry and thirsty, but otherwise unharmed.
