Police Seize Drugs and Firearms from St. John’s residence

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Street Drug Unit has seized two firearms and a quantity of cocaine from a residence in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

At approximately 3:30 PM on July 21st 2010, officers with the RNC Street Drug Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the central area of St. John’s. As a result, a 33 year old male and a 54 year old female have been arrested and charged under section 5(2) of the Controlled drugs and Substance Act, specifically possession for the purpose of trafficking. They are also facing numerous firearms offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both accused individuals have been detained at the St. John’s city lockup and will appear in court in the morning.
