Caledonia Mazda driver dies in a fatal vehicle collsion on Fiddler’s Green Road

On Monday September 9th 2013, at 6:17am, police were dispatched to 1155 Fiddler’s Green Road (between Book Road and Butter Road) for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles.

A Mazda Protege was traveling northbound while a Ford F150 was traveling southbound.  Ultimately, both vehicles collided, head-on, in the northbound lane.  The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda succumbed to his injuries at the scene while the driver and sole occupant of the F150 was treated and discharged at the scene. 

The identity of the deceased will not be released at the request of the family.

The Mazda driver was 21 years of age and a resident of Caledonia while the Ford driver is 33 years of age and a St. Catharine’s resident.

Although the investigation is in its early stages, alcohol has been ruled out.
