On Monday August 2, 2010 at approximately 3:05 p.m. officers from East Division responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Green Road about a kilometer south of Taunton Road in Clarington. An 18-year-old novice rider from Clarington was operating her 2000 Suzuki sport bike southbound on Green Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and lost control. The rider was thrown from her bike and suffered severe head trauma. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Next of kin have not authorized the release of the victim’s name.
Members of the Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
