On Monday, August 9, 2010, Martha Dedam, a 45-year-old woman from Elsipogtog appeared in Richibucto Provincial Court to face a charge of aggravated assault and breach of an undertaking in connection with a weekend stabbing.
Martha Dedam was arrested by District 5 RCMP on Sunday and made a brief court appearance on Monday morning to face charges. She was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to Richibucto Provincial Court on August 31, 2010 at 9:30 am.
On August 7, 2010 a 15-year-old teenage boy from Elsipogtog suffered serious stab wounds in a parking lot on Levi Street in Elsipogtog. He was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
