York police continue to search for missing man George Opasinis

York Police are asking for help to find a missing 59-year-old Markham man. 

George Opasinis was last seen leaving his workplace on Sunday, August 11, 2013, in the area of Main Street and Highway 7 East in the City of Markham. He has not been seen or heard from since. Police are concerned for his well-being.

He is described as:

– Male, white
– 59 years
– 5’6” tall, 140 lbs., thin build
– Blue eyes, wearing glasses
– Balding with short grey hair

Update: Officers with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, working in conjunction with the Toronto Police Service, have located and identified missing person George Opasinis. 

On Friday, September 13, 2013, Toronto Police Service responded to a deceased male that was located in a ravine in the area of Markham Road and Finch Avenue. The male could not be identified at the time, but through forensic analysis has been positively identified as George Opasinis.

George Opasinis was last seen leaving his workplace on Sunday, August 11, 2013, in the area of Main Street and Highway 7 East in the City of Markham. He had not been seen or heard from since.

Foul play is not suspected, however the cause of death has not been determined
