The U.S. President, after facing disagreements from his own party and pressure from Congressional Democrats, has proposed an administrative fix to the central element of his health care law. The fix to Obamacare is being made to ensure the American people that they can keep their health insurance if they are losing it because of the Affordable Care Act. This change announced by the President will now allow insurers to continue cancelled health plans and let the American people keep plans they like. ‘This fix won’t solve every problem for every person, but it’s going to help a lot of people,’ said the U.S. President.

Insurance companies are to continue these health plans for another year, only for existing policy holders so that they don’t lose their health insurances while companies and consumers try to adapt to the new requirements of Obamacare. President Obama said it has been mandatory for insurance companies to inform their customers about available coverage options by the state insurance marketplaces and the benefits that they would be missing by staying on their current health plan.

‘I think it’s fair to say that the rollout has been rough so far,’ The President said referring to the infamous debut of the health care site. It ‘has gone a lot better’ he added though he agreed to the fact that a lot of work remains to be done. Addressing the policy cancellation issue he said, ‘That’s on me. That’s something that I deeply regret because it’s scary getting a cancellation notice.’
