Witnesses sought in James Lee Catholique murder in Edmonton

Thanks to media coverage, several witnesses have come forward to assist with the James Lee Catholique homicide investigation, however, additional witnesses are still being sought.

The witness who found the body of Catholique and ran into the Brick Furniture Store to call EMS, has come forward and was interviewed by EPS Homicide Detectives.

Another male witness who came forward said that he ran up to an SUV driving westbound on 107 A Avenue and asked the female driver to call 9-1-1. The woman drove near the scene, however, did not make the call. Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating the woman driving the SUV, as she may be able to provide valuable information for the investigation.

Detectives also believe that there may be additional witnesses and are asking them to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567.

Background:

James Lee Catholique, 23, suffered head trauma in an apparent altercation that took place in the area of 100 Street and 107 A Avenue around 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The homicide is under investigation.
