Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have arrested a male after the investigation of a sexual assault that occurred in Mississauga.
On Sunday December 1, 2013, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the 19 year-old female student victim was walking westbound on The Collegeway, west of Mississauga Road, in the city of Mississauga. An unknown male approached her, grabbed the victim and pulled her to a wooded area where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled on foot leaving behind his bicycle. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault.
Numerous tips came in to investigators after a composite sketch of the suspect was released and an arrest has been made.
Kyle Cardiff, a 26year-old male from Brampton, is charged with Sexual Assault, Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm, Overcoming Resistance to Commit an Indictable Offence and Robbery. Cardiff was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, December 14, 2013.
