The Hamilton Police Service have arrested and charged a Hamilton man and woman alleged to be involved in the making and possession of child pornography.
Members of the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit along with members of the Technological Crime Unit, and Patrol officers executed a search warrant on the west mountain on March 19th, after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) regarding an individual alleged to be sharing videos/images of child pornography on the internet. The investigation was started by a division of the Russian Police who then forwarded the information to the NCECC which in turn provided the Hamilton Police Service with the information. A local investigation was started into the matter that resulted in today’s warrant.
Charged: 48 yr old male and 41 yr old female
Charges: – Possession of Child Pornography
– Make Child Pornography
Hamilton Police are continuing their investigation with a detailed forensic examination of the computers and devices seized from the residence.
Bail Hearing was held on March 20th.
