Richard Bastein charged for keeping of a common bawdy house in Windsor, Ontario

The Windsor Police Service has charged three people after an investigation into a bawdy house in the city’s downtown core. Officers from the WPS Morality Unit launched the investigation in August 2010 after receiving information that an illegal Bawdy House was operating in the 500 block of Pelissier St.

At 11:00 a.m. on September 30, 2010, officers arrested a 44 year old man while driving his vehicle after he was observed exiting the business and locking the front door minutes earlier. A search of the man subsequent to his arrest revealed him to be in possession of a quantity of oxycocet tablets as well as a quantity of cash.

At 6:15 p.m. on September 30, 2010 uniformed officers in company with officers from the Morality Unit executed a search warrant of the premises at 557 Pelissier St. known as "Outer Limits Spa" and found two females inside the building. Both women were arrested at the scene. A quantity of cash was also seized from the premises.

Richard BASTIEN – 44 years of Windsor is facing charges of being a Keeper of a Common Bawdy House and Unlawfully Possessing a Controlled Substance. He is currently in WPS custody and will appear in court today.

A 19 year old Sarnia woman and a 24 year old Windsor woman are facing one charge each of Being an Inmate of a Common Bawdy House. Both women were released to appear in court at a later date.
