Ottawa police recovered and identified the body of drowning victim as missing man’s Mykhaylo Novikov

The Ottawa Police Service Missing Persons Section has confirmed that the body recovered in the Ottawa River in the late morning of Tuesday, June 10, 2014 has been identified by the Coroner as Mykhaylo Novikov, 24 year old missing male who drowned on Sunday, June 1, 2014. 

Foul play is not suspected and as such the Ottawa Police investigation is considered closed.  The Ottawa Police Service is releasing the name with permission from the family. 

The family is asking for privacy during this difficult time.
