The overly reported flight that was delayed due to an alleged bomb threat, which caused an emergency landing back in Toronto and an immediate response by SWAT team, have now been delayed once more before it could finally reach Panama City. The Canadian passenger jet, Sunwing Flight 772, was delayed for the second time when it was made to land in Jamaica after a passenger fainted and sustained a minor head injury. Consequently, the flight was held on the ground for almost an hour while the passenger was shifted to a local hospital.

Previously on Friday morning, the plane’s initial flight to Panama City was aborted and the flight was asked to land back at Toronto Pearson International Airport after a passenger allegedly threatened the aircraft. The aircraft was escorted by two American F-16 fighters and made to turn around in the skies above West Virginia after a traveler became “agitated.” A video shot by another passenger captured the incident as the Canadian SWAT team charged aboard the plane. The military personal entered the airplane screaming “heads down! hands up!” as they leant to apprehend the suspect.

The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Ali Shahi, of Canada, who now faces charges of uttering threats and endangering the safety of an aircraft. A fellow passenger named Bettina Bathe said that “he basically just tore a strip off her [the flight attendant], explaining how expensive the cigarettes are here in Canada, he hates Canada,” adding that “then he said, with great expression using his hands, ‘I just want to bomb Canada.'”
