York Regional Police is seeking public assistance in locating a man wanted in connection to with a murder that occurred in the Town of Markham on Saturday, October 16, 2010.

An arrest warrant has now been issued for this subject for First Degree Murder. Police strongly recommend the subject seek legal counsel and surrender himself immediately. This suspect is
considered armed and dangerous. If located do not approach him, instead notify police immediately.

WANTED:

• Sinhem SRUN, also known as "Mao", 32 years
• Male, South Asian (Cambodian)
• Approximately 5’4", 160 lbs
• Shaved head, brown eyes

Three other suspects have already surrendered themselves to police in connection with the fatal October 16 stabbing. All three have been charged with first degree murder.

On Saturday, October 16, 2010, at approximately 11:50 p.m. police responded to a disturbance call at a plaza located at 398 Ferrier Street, in the Town of Markham. Uniform officers arrived on scene and learned that an altercation had taken place at this location and that there were injured individuals being transported by friends to hospital. Officers attended the hospital and learned that two individuals had been admitted to the hospital and were suffering from stab wounds.

One of the individuals identified as Mr. Vandin SVAY of Newmarket, succumbed to his injuries while a 24-year-old Newmarket man is currently listed in stable condition and remains in hospital following an altercation that occurred outside a Markham restaurant. The cause of death has been determined to be sharp-force trauma.
