The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in a stabbing investigation.
It is alleged that:
– on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at approximately 12:30 a.m., two men were walking in theYonge Street/Dundas Street area
– a 33-year-old man, walking in the same area, inadvertently bumped shoulders with one of the men while texting on his phone
– the man he bumped into took exception as a perceived slight and attacked the victim
– the man was able to defend himself from both his attackers
– the two took exception to the defence
– one of the men then stabbed the 33-year-old man in the heart
He was taken to hospital in critical condition.
One of the men was arrested shortly after. Mohamed Ali, 27, of Toronto, is charged with:
1) Attempt Murder
2) Aggravated Assault
A court date has not yet been set.
The second man is described as white, 5’8″, with short dark hair, and a chin strapped beard. He was wearing a black and white sweater. He may be familiar to people of the Yonge Street/Dundas Street, and Yonge Street/Gerrard Street areas.
