Toronto man Philip Wood charged in connection to a historical sexual assault investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a multi-jurisdictional Historical Sexual Assault investigation. The alleged incidents occurred between 1977 and 1983, mainly in the area of Parham, Ontario at Sagamore Farm group home. 

As a result of this investigation, more victims have come forward.

It is alleged that:

– three boys between 10 and 12 were staying at Sagamore Farm group home

– all three boys were sexually assaulted by a man who worked at the farm

On Thursday, August 21, 2014, Philip Wood, 63, of Toronto, was arrested in relation to this investigation. Philip Wood was charged with the following offences:

1) four counts of Gross Indecency 
2) four counts of Indecent Assault Male 

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, 9 a.m.

During the time of the alleged assaults, he was working in a position of trust and authority at Sagamore Farm.

Police believe there may be more victims.

  1. Philip I am so shocked and in total disbelief. Growing up was a rough time for me and your years as my teacher and friend and frontenac public school is one of the best relationships I had. This is so disheartening!.
